Trims and moldings are the finishing pieces that bring a flooring project together. They frame floors, walls, and doors, giving a clean and complete look. They also:
- Protect walls and edges from damage
- Cover expansion gaps
- Connect flooring between rooms or different materials
These cover the space between the wall and the floor. They protect against scuffs and marks while adding a finished edge to any room.
- Penn Carpet only uses solid wood (never MDF) because it lasts longer and resists damage
- Available in paint-grade, primed, or stainable finishes
- We stock 16-foot lengths to reduce cuts and seams for a smoother look
Door casings frame the opening around doors and connect the look of the walls and trim.
- Solid wood only — no MDF
- Helps hide gaps between the wall and frame
- Can be painted or stained to match other trim pieces
Transitions connect two different flooring materials or levels. They create a safe, smooth connection between rooms.
- Common types: T-molds, reducers, and tile transitions
- Materials include wood, metal, and plastic
- Color-matched to the floor for a consistent appearance
Stair treads (the part you step on) and risers (the vertical part) complete a staircase.
- Can be stained or matched to your flooring
- Designed for a smooth, continuous look from floor to stairs
- Adds both safety and style
For commercial projects, we carry rubber and vinyl trims made to handle heavy use.
- Includes cove base, stair treads, corner guards, and wall bases
- Durable, moisture-resistant, and easy to maintain
- Meets building and safety standards for commercial spaces
Trims and moldings require very little upkeep:
- Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth
- Avoid harsh cleaners or prolonged water exposure
- Check for wear or moisture damage in high-traffic areas
Product warranties vary by supplier. These are the only products we don’t include warranties for, since trims and moldings typically last for decades and rarely have defects like flooring materials can.
