What is Luxury Vinyl?

Luxury vinyl is engineered for performance and style. It consists of multiple layers: a waterproof core, a high-definition design layer that mimics wood or stone, and a durable wear layer for everyday use. Because the core is synthetic and non-porous, luxury vinyl excels in rooms where moisture, pets, or heavy use are concerns—think kitchens, bathrooms, basements, mudrooms, or rental units. Its softer feel underfoot and moisture tolerance make it a smart choice when you want the look of hardwood or tile without the same level of maintenance or risk.

SPC vs WPC: What’s the Difference?

SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) – Dense and rigid. Best for high-traffic areas, rentals, or commercial spaces. Extremely stable under heavy use.

WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) – Slightly softer underfoot. Better sound absorption and comfort, making it ideal for living rooms and bedrooms.

Both are 100% waterproof, and we offer options for every type of space.

Waterproof Performance

Spills, pets, and busy kitchens are no problem. Every luxury vinyl product we carry is fully waterproof, making it a smart choice for bathrooms, basements, and homes with kids or pets.

Wear Layers & Thickness

Luxury vinyl products come with protective wear layers that shield against scratches and dents. We only carry thicker, longer-lasting LVT—thinner products often crack, chip, or wear out quickly.

Installation Options

Click-Lock (Floating): Planks or tiles lock together, great for fast installation and easy replacement.
Glue-Down: More permanent, ideal for high-traffic areas or commercial spaces.

Our team recommends the best method depending on the room and subfloor.

Luxury Vinyl vs Laminate

While both luxury vinyl (LVP/LVT) and laminate mimic the look of hardwood or stone, their structure and performance diverge significantly. Laminate features a core made of wood-fiber composite topped with a printed design layer and wear layer. Because of its wood-based core, it is water-resistant, not fully waterproof, and may swell or warp if exposed to moisture for long periods.

Luxury vinyl, on the other hand, is made of layered plastics like PVC, with a fully synthetic core and top wear layer. It is built to be 100 % waterproof, handles moisture-prone areas, and often offers better resilience against spills, humidity, and indirect water damage.

In short: for moisture-heavy spaces or active households, luxury vinyl offers superior protection and versatility. Laminate often gives a slightly more rigid, dense feel and in some cases may edge out in scratch resistance and realistic wood look, but only when used in the right environment.

Easy Maintenance

Maintaining luxury vinyl is simple. Regular sweeping or vacuuming removes dirt and grit, and occasional mopping keeps floors fresh. Because it’s waterproof, spills and messes are easy to wipe away.

Maintenance & Refinishing

Hardwood is easy to maintain with regular sweeping or vacuuming. For scratches or dull spots, refinishing restores beauty and extends the floor’s life. Prefinished floors require less immediate care, while site-finished floors allow customization in finish type (matte, satin, or oil).

Product Warranties

All laminate products come with manufacturer-backed warranties covering defects and finish durability. Coverage and length vary by  product, but our team can explain details before purchase.
